48 hours dry!!!!
48 hours dry!!!!
Day 2 coming to a close. I do have a few questions, when do you get to sleep. I laid there most of the night counting the ceiling fan blades.
May have gotten two hours, showered took vitamins and went to work. Even with the lack of sleep I felt great.
Got much more done than usual, even worked two hours of OT.
Now the bad, this is where I normally screw up, I start feeling great and somehow my mind decides I didn't really have a problem to begin with.
Anyway thanks for the support, one day at a time!!!

Great job on 48 hours!
I think a lot of us have fallen into that thinking, what works for me is thinking "if I don't have a problem, surely i can make it 90 days without a drink" because a person with no problem would have no issue with that. I don't make it past 10 days.

It varies for everyone I think. I never slept night one - ever...then it got progressively better from there.
Hope tonight is better for you
Congrats on day 2
when you start to think maybe you don;t have a problem come back here and read your old posts, and other peoples too.
SR really helped me accept my problem was real.

Congrats on Day 2, Mechanic!
Only you can decide if you have a problem. You can try a little test. See if you can remain sober for at least 30 days without any uncomfortable feelings or cravings. Then keep going. As you've said, you feel great already. Most alcoholics could have quit early on. However, this is a progressive disease. Quitting now is definitely in your benefit if you are an alcoholic. Most normal drinkers don't ask themselves these questions though.
Sleep for most comes in a matter of days. Best Regards!

Well done on 48 hours. That's an accomplishment!
It took me a week or so for sleep to start evening out but everyone is different. I found getting quiet before bedtime, coming on here to read a little, maybe some light reading helped me. And no caffeine.
