Stay here, talk to us, and think through the implications...the hangover, the dehydration, the shame.

Try listening to some good music, or doing some kind of exercise. Read around the forums here. You can get through this.

You can ride this out, n3wlife. All urges and cravings pass if you give them time.

It will pass. Don't waste all the time you have sober. Drinking isn't what we thought it was you would be let down

How are you feeling now? I found it helpful to keep myself busy doing something with my hands and something to keep my mind occupied. I did a lot of cleaning, crocheting, walking outside, swimming,....anything to not drink. Sometimes I would go to an AA meeting as being in a room with people who were like me was helpful. It made me feel less alone dealing with this issue. Can you jump on to the chat site?

N3wlife:

Just remember that "next day", the shakes, headaches, remorse, money gone, body aches. Its not worth it at all. I had a slip up a while back and it was horrible. There just comes a point when enough is enough. Don't wake up tomorrow with another "day one" keep moving forward on your sober path.

I think the time triggered me, I generally drink every Monday around this time because it's my day off.

I want enjoy living again.

I know Sobriety is the only way, I don't understand why I have to make it hard...

Thank you guys for responding so fast, I really needed the quick feedback that somebody cared.

Thanks for posting. This is a reminder to MYSELF what i need to do in situations like this.

ASK FOR HELP. Like you have done.

I would recommend playing the tape through...Think of how you'll feel tomorrow...or the next day?...

A scary part of losing control of drinking is that i have NO idea where it will end if i pick up a drink again. I drank roughly 3 weeks ago...Wanted to drink for 1 day.

It turned into 5 pretty quick. Total Loss of Control.

Have you tried AA? They're helping me. I have a sponsor i call daily.

Good luck to you.

We do care. when you have trigger times, deal with those directly in that keeping those times occupied. You can do this!!

I too had trigger times at certain times of the day (and still do) and they do subside over time.
