It won't get easy quickly. That is why most of us take it one day at time. There are days that feel better and days that feel like pure crap but if you handle one at a time, you can make it through.
Hang in there.
Hang in there.
I hear you, Brother. I drank a lot for 25 years. Every day. I tried to quit many times, but the fear, anxiety, ennui, and stress always made those stints of sobriety very brief.
In the end it takes a leap of faith. People on this forum - people who understood what alcohol addiction is like - told me it would get better if I just rode it out. Running out of options I pushed the I believe button and put the bottle down.
They were right. I was a slave to that fear and anxiety - and by extension to the bottle. I never knew it until I got my first taste of freedom. It was better than any beer ever.
You are stronger than you believe you are, and you can do this.

Once you get over that first few days, you should be feeling better.
I understand your fear -my first post here contained the word "scared", too.
We are all here to support you.
