Made it to 10 days....

and then had wine on Sunday. Day 1 today. I didn't get drunk. I'm not hungover. Dumped out the rest last night. My husband are committed to sticking to this new way of life. I should have made a plan last night, or came on this site, but I didn't want to. I wanted to have wine and I did. I've picked myself up and dusted myself off. Thinking about AA, but I went once and really didn't like it. Thanks for all of the support.

Many options, pick one.
Frankly, I didn't like the thought of quitting drinking. But I knew it was time or life would continue to disintegrate.

I have gone to AA around 200 times in 7 months. Not sure I like it either, still deciding. But, it has got me this far .......

Hope you find your way

Glad you are back. I think you already nailed down why it happened too, I do hope you can come up with a plan, whether it be AA or not. I didn't like the fact that I had to come to a place like SR when I started out either, but accepting that I belong here went a long way in getting me sober.

BeBetter,

Today is a new day. Don't pick up the first drink. You can do it.

Do it for you. AA is a way of life. Make it yours. Take a chance on you.

Go at things again!!

Accepting the new Sober me though was a large part of my journey, substituting that Sunday evening craving with something non alcoholic was all part of the process, whether I wanted to drink or not, tough choices are needed as to what life we want to now live!!

You can do this!!

Glad you are back, BeBetter.

Try AA; give it a good chance.

If you find that AA isn't for you, there are other options.

Hi and congratulations on your 10 days.

It used to be said often at AA “if you don’t like what we have and offer, you your misery is refundable”

Many don’t like it and seem to choose the path of continued misery. Seeing that alcoholism is progressive, it will never get better unless we keep it from our lips, it was also said accurately that if we continue to drink we will end up in jail, institutionalized, dead or in a more miserable life each day we continue to drink.

It is defiantly not a soft cuddly health beverage.

You can stop it’s spiral by doing suggestions posted on this site.

Life will get better when we do it for ourselves.

BE WELL

You can do this, but it needs a lot of motivation on your part. Honestly, it doesn't sound like you're quite there yet. I hope you continue to work on your recovery and decide that alcohol is no longer an option.
