Hi and welcome back to a day of sobriety one day at a time in a row.
You probably remember the expression “I go to meetings to see what happens to people who stop going to meetings.”
Your story is a great read especially for new comers and in my opinion all should read AND remember it.
THANK YOU AND BE WELL

Congratulations on 24 hours, Grace: that is fantastic!
Wow, your post resonated with me. Like you, I have a stressful job and I also binge drank alone, in part to deal with that stress. Wine was my poison and I, too, gradually inched up from a glass or two a night to three and then, some nights, a whole bottle. My partner really had no sense of how much I was drinking because I generally did this when he was away. I remember when I first decided to get sober, I mentioned it to my partner, who responded, "But you don't drink that much."
About a month into my sobriety, I told my partner how much I drank. He was surprised. I was terrified. But it was also a tremendous relief to be honest with him. He is also my best friend, so I can benefit from his support. Very slowly, I've been telling folks I'm not drinking. Telling trusted others--even if it is just, "I'm not drinking," without the why and what, can be very affirming in the early days of our sobriety.
Sending you positive thoughts. You are off to a great start!

Congrats on 24 hours Grace. You can do this!
Like you and Matilda, I drank in the basement, attic constantly hiding and sneaking BUT they always figured it out.
Starting day 4 and feel better already..
Have a sober Tuesday

Welcome to the family Grace, glad you found us.
congratulations on 24 hrs
I drank for 38 years with a lot of failed attempts at stopping -then I found AA and SR, and made a solid plan which I work on every day. I'm now 95 days sober, and I'm staying that way this time.
You can do this !
