Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Been in and out of the program for almost 20 years. Drinking vanilla extract tonight because there's nothing left. Just counting the hours till I can go to sleep and start a new day 1 tomorrow. There's no place else to post this. I know there are people on this forum who can empathize without pity or judgement. Thank you. I hope to return the favor.

I just joined yesterday while coming out of a stupor. Everyone has welcomed me and it has been great so far. Stay around. We can do this!

Welcome to the family!

It all starts with a day 1. And you can make it the last one you have to face.

Glad you found us

Welcome. We've all had a day one multiple times. I don't know your history but seeing a medical professional is recommended.

For me AA is the only thing that worked. Check out a meeting and start your sober life. It can be done

Welcome ! Alcohol is a powerful and cunning beverage for those of us who somewhere down the road lost the "choice" to drink normally. It's the only disease a hypochondriac won't claim. (sorry - a little of levity is often needed in these tough times imo). I came here to SR 71 days ago - emotionally beat to hell in a multi-bottle red wine hungover fog. Was thoroughly disgusted with my binge drinking insanity cycle. With SR, and walking back into, and fully embracing the principals of AA, my life is soooooo much better after this short period of time. Welcome again !! Give this sober life a shot. Hang in there and keep coming back ! MJM

Welcome trust me I have been where you are at right down to the vanilla extract. Life is so much easier sober. It's getting through the first few days. This is where a Dr can be of great service. After the initial withdrawals you have to take the steps to keep yourself well. It's not easy but is definitely doable. I am fairly new to staying quit(I am a pro at quitting) so I don't pretend to have any pearls off wisdom all I can offer is everything including the bad stuff is so much easier to manage sober.

No judgement here my friend. I never had vanilla extract in the house so in desperate times I turned to mouth-wash. Wrecked my insides and I urinated all sorts of weird colours but I didn't care. It's madness.
