Two weeks and counting

Hello all,

It has been a while since I last posted. I took my last drink (a beer) two days after Christmas 2014 and haven't looked back. While the experience so far hasn't exactly been liberating, I have noticed some positive changes: Sleep has improved, anxiety has lessened, and overall well-being is on the upswing.
Now if I can just keep going with it.

I've found that avoiding the liquor and beer aisles in the grocery store is a must for me, as too often that 'what-the-hell-one-drink-won't-hurt' attitude gets the best of me. Especially when it's right in front of me.

I've also been focusing on diet, relaxation, and avoiding staying home on the weekend (my real downfall, since boredom was a major trigger to my drinking).
I occasionally visit this site for support and inspiration, which has been a real help.
Wish me luck! I'm focused on the next two weeks! Woo-hoo!

Congratulations on two weeks, souplover. Glad to hear that you are seeing some positive effects of sobriety.

Hope you check-in more often and, yes, wishing you good luck.
