checking in - 1 week tomorrow.

Hiya.I don't actually like counting days too much.makes it feel to me like a countdown for some reason. I just want to 'be' if that makes sense.
Anyways crazy week. Started having really bad respiratory symptoms where I had real problems getting a breath. I've previously been diagnosed with asthmas so had the ventolin and spacer but wasn't helping so went to see the doc on Tues who was kinda old school, just agreed with me and gave me steroids and flixotide. Didn't do anything except for make me really thirsty !
Went back today ( Friday ) and saw someone else who after hearing my whole history revisited a diagnosis I got ten years ago of chronic hyperventilation syndrome and doesn't think I have asthma at all, but that its all part of chronic stress and depression. Awesome ( heavy sarcasm ) .accompanied by low grade fever and viral laryngitis of course. So whatever so confused and uncomfortable. Hvs is a pain in the ass but it makes sense.
Bright side is that I've been concentrating so hard on breathing I've not missed booze!
Anyone e else got HVS?

I'm not familiar with that but it sounds pretty scary AN - it must be a relief to have a name to it tho.

Yeah I knew about it a long time ago and went to a specialist but hadn't had a flare up in ages. But thinking back it had been coming for a while. I know what I'm supposed to do and it involves a good four weeks of breathing excersises and training myself to breathe normally again plus ongoing stuff and seriously looking after my mental health. Asthma would have been easier lol typical me , looking for the easy way

I'm glad you got diagnosed correctly, AN.
