Got my blood tests back

So after 38 days not drinking I got my latest blood tests back. These were taken a month after stopping. I had dangerously elevated liver enzymes and a problem showing with my kidney function. My test results were NORMAL!!! As per doc my liver showed no longer any signs of inflammation and kidney fucntion also returned to normal. I hope this can encourage others who due to alcohol are in a similar situation. It is amazing how quickly your body can heal itself. Treat it as your temple...it can equally be destroyed in no time.

Similarly, at one point my triglycerides were 300 and my LDL was almost 200. A year into sobriety and eating right my triglycerides are 62 and my LDL 120 and this is without medication. Sobriety has allowed me to have greater willpower and control over many aspects of my life, and the blood work shows... Perhaps most importantly is I actually give damn. When I was drinking I didn't take care of myself and pretty much didn't care if I lived or died. What a difference a year makes.

I find knowing that your health is improving is the biggest motivator to stay on track.. My doc also suggested an ECG due to drinking for so many years. Thankfully that also returned a normal reading..

Awesome news...the body has a great ability to heal given the chance, which you gave yours by kicking the habit. 38 days sober is a big accomplishment!

My liver test showed elevated on one test for years. Of course I Drank heavily but didn't have a problem then so I didn't say anything. I am glad my tests are normal now that I am sober.
