Bitter cold
Day 3 here, sitting after dinner thinking about my issues, financial, health etc..
Then I looked outside and thought about the homeless that are on the street.
With -25 degrees and a windshield of -37 I cannot imagine how it must be. One passed away in Toronto.
That being said, no complaints from me tonight, just deep gratitude and compassion for those in a LOT more trouble than me.

Glad you are sober, Patman.
Yes we often forget to be grateful for what we have and tend to complain about what we don't have... But I also think that recognizing the relatively fortunate situation we are in should not provide a sense of confidence that our own problems are not serious enough. It's a bit like the discussions about "hitting rock bottom" and where everyone's bottom is.
Stay warm and sober

Great job on Day 3, Patman. Bitter cold here, too, but nothing compared to what you describe.
You are so right; we are blessed to have a roofed over heads; heat in our homes and food on our tables.
Seeing those less fortunate certainly provides perspective.

Pat, I'm really glad you're Day 3. You can get past this!
And, yes, I will complain about winter because that's what we Canadians do, and we do it frequently and well. It's -25C with the wind (-13F) so it's nasty. And, I am so thankful for a roof and a fireplace.

Good job on day three Patman!
It's biting cold here too but not as bad as you. We will be basking in the relative warmth of -11 tonight. I'm grateful for the roof over my head, the warmth inside, my bowl of soup and my stir crazy children.
