Day 5
I've been sober 5 days and I'm miserable. I was hoping the nagging feeling would be easying up - but it's not. The thought of drinking a glass of wine come 4pm is overwhelming. How much longer will this last???
Welcome to the Forum!!
For me it took some time, the body can't adjust and heal years of drinking in a matter of days, it's gonna take time but it will get better.
Keep pushing through, don't reset the clock back to zero and have to go through this all over again, you can do this!!

Well, we're all different, but for me it lasted about three weeks as far as the craving which started around 2-4:00 as the workday wound down and I began to get a little hungry. That was definitely the toughest part of my days during the week. One thing that helped me very much was to have a big filling protein shake around 3:00 or so...it really took the edge off. I also took a route home avoiding the service station where I bought my evening six pack .
It's tough working through the cravings I know. Please don't give up....it really does get better.

I also want to add that at just over three months I almost never get weekday cravings anymore. Working through them like you are (and doing what you can to take the edge off) chips away at the grip that old habits have. You will get there...keep building those sober muscles!

I'm on day 5 too bellaboo3. This morning I woke up feeling great for the fist time in a long time. Probably depends on how long you have been drinking and other factors. Do you take vitamins? I have been. maybe it helps. Hang in there you will get there. I'm thinking it will get easier each day. It still feels odd being sober in the evenings for me.

I'm so glad I found this site. Half my battle is that I've kept my drinking from my beautiful family and I've had no one to talk to. Ive decided to stop seeing the people who trigger my drinking. thanks for the support!

Hang in there!
I am also new and on day 5. It hasn't been easy but it is getting better. The fatigue is the worst for me but I can live with it. B vitamins do seem to help...that and ice cream : )
