Momentus night
This is the first night on a full moon I haven't been drunk since my twin bro drowned fishing on a full moon in 2001. day 4 tomorrow which I know is early times but despite my ex-wife deliberately trying to **** me off (and succeeding) I'm in bed sober. Still can't sleep, feeling strange but i'm not hungover, blood pressure is lowering and my skin isn't as blotchy after a hot shower.
I've been here before quite a few times, 9 days was the longest, this is where it starts to get real tuff. Drink if you feel good, drink if you feel bad to dull the pain, excuses excuses. Made it another day.
How did I let myself get to this point?

Welcome, FamOverFever.
I am so sorry about your brother. I hope you can maintain staying sober, and perhaps soon the Moon will signify a tribute to him, and to yourself, of staying sober, and living life. I am sure he would want you to be happy and well... and so do we.
How you got here doesn't matter as much as how to go from here on out.... so, hang in there, take good care of yourself, and keep posting. so many have gotten help here, with support from the awesome people here who care. who have been there and know how to be helpful.
Glad you are here

My most sincere condolences about the loss of your brother.
As addicts, we grasp onto a particular substance that fools us into believing we feel better, but the end result is always the same. The initial problem is still there, but now it has an alcohol problem along for the ride.
Next full moon, take a gaze at it's beauty and remember your brother,
in a positive way.

I am so sorry about your brother, Fam0verFever; what a tragic loss.
Congrats on Day 4.
I like what chicory said about viewing the Full Moon as a tribute to your brother and what lunar said about appreciating its beauty and remembering him.

After reading your share this is
the image that appeared in my mind.
You standing in the center with your
twin brother on one side and the Lord
on the other side. Both of these 2 STRENGTHS
standing strong beside you.
Then a CIRCLE of a Recovery program,
fellowship, support, encouragement , love,
care, knowledge, encircling you as you
learn to remain sober a day at a time.
With a STRONG SUPPORT with you,
beside you, this will be your recovery
armour/shield to wear as you face life
without poison to numb or destroy you.
With a recovery program to build a
strong, solid foundation to life upon
and 2 STRONG PILLARS beside you,
your Brother and the Lord/Faith, you
can become healthy, happy and honest
for many days sober down the road to
come.
This is my vision for you.
