The Insomnia is real
Good ol' detox. It's 3:20 A.M. and I can't sleep. I feel pretty good otherwise.
Part of it may be because I took a two hour nap earlier, but tomorrow's going to hurt!
I'm officially on day 2 (again) so yay for that.

Hi, I am 7 weeks sober after 20+ years of Olympic drinking. My sleep is only now regulating as are the sugar cravings in the middle of the night. So please be prepared to work through this for as long as your body feels you need to. You will come out the other side and you will be the better for it.

My company's insurance changed since it's the new year, so I have to find out which IOP's my insurance help pay for. The insurance company was closed for holidays so I couldn't get the necessary info to get the process going.
It's totally fine though. I have no problems waiting a few days.
Drinking screwed up my sleeping too. It's gotten better over time staying sober, and as long as I watch my coffee/carb intake during the day I tend to be ok. Also, I find that looking at a computer/tablet/phone screen before bed is bad for my sleep. I've switched to a Kindle Paperwhite and am doing much better at night.
I always get bad insomnia after sobering up for a day or two at least. My body would just be too messed up to relax. Just remember it will pass and hang in there. I always try to remember that with every sober day you'll feel that much better than the last. I'm on day 4 and my body is just starting to return to normal.
Hi,
Day 3 and also not sleeping. Don't know how I'm gonna be able to get up early for work tomorrow. Tired all day long, then at night wide awake tossing and turning.
Hopefully it will regulate in a bit. Used to sleeping from alcohol making me tired/drunk.

check out the program flux for both mac and windows... it changes the color of the screen closer to halogen or tungsten lighting which is easier on the eyes and lulls you to sleep... just google flux
