Sorry...But I DID IT!!!!
Thanks to everyone here, I feel completely worn out but I'm not panicking...my heart feels normal...and for the first time in years I was sober both New Years Eve, New Years Day, Yesterday and today (the Inlaws-need I say more). The alcohol was everywhere, I had my famous drink glass in hand but it was clean-just Lemon Lime soda like I used to mix with my Gin!!!!!
Thank you so much. Now, today AV started when the opinions started flying around and my wife took a glass of wine after a brutal day of taking down the Holiday lights (not easy when you are the Griswolds-it's an all day thing) then was teased into fixing an outside fan in the heat. My head started spinning I had to sit down, AV really wanted me then. But that was 2 hours ago, I passed my normal 5:00 o'clock start to drink time and am now ready for a good nights sleep.
Tomorrow I will be in church (as always on Sunday's) but this time I won't be dry mouth, dizzy or trying to catch my breath. I can't wait to see how I feel. I might even listen to the Priest!!
Hope you are all doing well and have a great nights sleep.
I need a plan for next week, though. My wife will be back to school with my son all day Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday....being unemployed I need to stay on track and not feel sorry for myself. I'll check out the 'things to do' thread this week for sure.
Day 5 here I come!!!! I don't believe it!!!! This after a 4 week bender, I thought all was lost and that I was going to die for sure. Not yet.
Love to you all.
Eric

Hi Eric, well done on your days so far. Keep going. Do not drink.
It might be worth using your time to prepare for when your AV really starts to wear you down in the coming weeks. Personally I have written down a lot of my worst drinking moments and stories, the destruction, how I felt etc and I carry it with me. At weak moments I read it and it scared me into not drinking. Also I call my wife and tell her I am wobbling. What is going to protect you when you hit those inevitable weak moments or lapses in your determination?
