So, get back to doing well again. Which means pour out whatever you have and put down the drink. There is no such thing as "not drinking too often." It always leads back to full-on drinking.

Zombie girl, can you pour out the rest? You can get back on track.

zombie girl, the way I see it you have two choices right now.

1. Finish the drink in your glass and probably pour another. Wake up tomorrow feeling low and guilty and use this as an excuse to keep drinking.

or

2. Walk to the kitchen pour the contents of your glass and the rest of the bottle down the sink. Write on a piece of paper "Not this f-c-ing time" and shove it in the neck of the bottle or can and go and sleep it off.

Tomorrow, wake up knowing your back on the path to sobriety, you are in control.

Don't beat yourself up too bad. You can't change the past. Get back on the horse. Are you attending AA, counseling or any other recovery groups for extra support?

You can do this!!! (((Hug)))

Start of a new year ZG. Seems a great time to redouble your efforts and rediscover all that resolve that had you on the right path. We both know you can do it again but you need to start somewhere so now seems like a good time.

This kind of thing happens to some of us. Not all, many simply straighten out and never look back. But for some of us, it turns out, there is more to our problem than we thought.

We need to look further and do more to find a solution. Maybe treatment, maybe a long term program of recovery. I know it doesn't look very attractive and may be quite inconvenient, but if we keep doing the same old thing in the same way, we will get the same disappointing result.

Sounds like it tricked you into thinking you could moderate because for a while it seemed like you could. I fell for that same trick. No matter how it starts, you know how it's going to end. Stand up, start over, and figure out what you need to stay sober. Staying on this site can help you with that, and there are lots of other resources available.

Hi Zombiegirl, don't allow yourself to feel despondent. You did great before and you will do great again. Glad you're here, trying again. Keep moving forward...
