My appetite was waaay down for the first two weeks. I hardly ate a thing and lost almost 10lbs in a month. At 33 days, my appetite is back in full force.

I couldn't get enough of sweets and chocolate. My desire for coffee went into overdrive.

Other than that, my appetite was somewhat suppressed as was my energy level.

Every thing eventually leveled out and returned to normal.

yes, but you have to make yourself eat.

my entire stomach, etc was out of whack for a few weeks. treat yourself as if you have a stomach flu and eat something!

Yep. I forgot about eating yesterday until about 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Nothing tastes that great to me and I'll start a meal and be "full" after a few bites. Try to eat nourishing food. That's what everyone around here always says.

Yeppers, I'm with the treating it like the flu. I drank small amounts of apple juice to keep my sugar up and warm soups at the start. I'm still not at 100% appetite but it's nice feeling hungry again. You'll get there

Check, check and check. Sugar, carbs and coffee. My wife asked me last night when i am going to stop replacing all the alcohol with all the coffee.

Yes, at first couldn't taste or smell much at all, and I was very flat emotionally as well. Then all I wanted was sugar. It evened out after a month or so.

Yes having no appetite for a while is normal. Just eat small meals. Be sure not to get too hungry because that is dangerous to our recovery. Keep it up! :-) It gets better!

Don't forget to drink water as well as to increase your food intake. Drinking water doesn't come naturally to me for some reason so I have to train myself to do it. Really important as far as flushing the toxins out as well as keeping the body hydrated. Good for you for taking care of yourself!!

I normally don't drink.much water, I'm thinking that's why i had such a bad headache the past 2 days. I upped my intake yesterday and I'm feeling better today.

Welcome to the club! I force myself to eat at least once a day, normally that's all I do is once day eating although I'm trying to eat more often for 2 reasons: #1 I heard it helps you stay sober and #2 to try to help my shirt term memory repair.
