Reminder to myself.
 
Ok good. You made it through yesterday without drinking while everyone around you were drinking. That's great, but don't be too confident about today!
Without a doubt this evening IT will sneak up on you. Invisible and silent it will engulf you and you might not even realize it is there. It is intent upon entering your head and turning your off switch to on. Next thing you know you will be having a drink. Giving up, giving in. Then another. You don't want one drink, you want at least 3. Four or five will do the trick nicely.

Oh wait, now you don't feel so good. You feel tired, have a headache, moody, disappointed in yourself. You can't carry on a reasonable conversation, in fact you would rather just go to bed. How did that work out for you?

Stay diligent. It is coming. Be ready. Be ready to fight and win.

And keep repeating every day “I will not drink today.”

Another way to say this that worked better for me, was to say I will never drink now. I will not drink now, in this present moment. Of course I can choose to not drink for just a moment, so let that moment be the present moment. Instead of fighting, I accepted that I am done with drinking, I am ready to have a life that is better in every way. I said no to booze by saying yes to me and to my life. So, get busy doing that thing now. Onward!
