2 weeks sober today
2 weeks sober today
I am up. I am sober. It is so early that I am actually up BEFORE the kids.
So far, I have been doing this with the help of SR. In times of stress (when I want a drink the most)-- pausing, breathing and clenching my fists is my only method of calming the want for a drink. Seriously, I make a fist. Sounds ridiculous.
I have been feeling lethargic. Normally, I push through and can get it all done. Lately, the laundry sits, the cleaning waits and I just feel BLAH. You would think with all this sleep I am getting, I would have the energy to do more. I don't. And the eating - I eat EVERYTHING!!!!
Is this normal? Any suggestions?

Sounds like me at 2 weeks exactly. It passes. My wife and I have a July 4th photo of ourselves that a friend took and still get comments on how healthy we looked from friends. We were 2 and 3 weeks sober at the time. Hang in there. I still get up way too early for no reason (it used to be to drink). I can live with that.
Well done Suzie .... congratulations
Same here - I'm on 9 days .... I'm eating everything in sight & absolutely shattered. I get the occasional burst of energy ....
But .... and the most important thing is "we are sober"

Well done, Suzieq; congratulations on two weeks.
When we become sober, our bodies can begin to heal from the repeated, consistent abuse to which we subjected them. Healing expends energy; be kind to yourself; listen to your body; it's telling you to slow down so that it has the energy to heal.
Continue to stay well hydrated; eat healthy meals.
Again, congratulations.

Hello Suzie! Congratulations on your two weeks, that's great progress!
Two weeks actually means you also would've been part of our December 2014 class, we are all along the same stage of sobriety together. I've placed the link below, please feel free to join your class =)

Congrats on two weeks. Sounds a lot like what I was feeling at two weeks. Just keep going each and every day. The energy will come back. Also it is okay to take naps once in a while. Better to rest, then to drink the booze. I found that keeping myself busy doing other things seemed to help. I have been cleaning out a lot of things and donating all the stuff to charity.
