Totally flips me off when my partner drinks too. I, however, try to stay thinking about myself and my sobriety and how much better my life is for not drinking. It is hard to be in a relationship with someone who drinks and you are sober. I'm not sure why we put ourselves through this other then there are some good parts of the relationship too. What I do know, however,is that I have to place my sobriety above everything. I confronted my partner and was really honest about how I felt about his drinking. Thinking of you!!

Petals, is there a way to keep physical distance between you when he's drinking? That helps me, my H was drinking over Christmas. I also try to stay busy with something. Household tasks, knitting, cooking, whatever I can find to do that keeps me focused on anything but him. You can do this, really you can, and tomorrow you will feel fantastic and he... Won't.

Petals, *hugs*. Can you get out of the house while your husband is drinking and do something nice for yourself instead (go for a walk, get a massage, etc)?

Not sure if he gets this or not. ....
He has bought me a bottle of alcohol free wine.
Now he's getting obnoxious and grumpy

Its really tough, been there, seriously... I kept goingto the loo and chanting ' no no no no no' and re-emerging when I felt stronger, but stay strong, and keep the humour, think WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...... xxx
