OH thank you to every one, I cleaned, read stories and am winding down for bed, (I get up really early for work) I must say being on here helped, I know that there is more to come but with my conviction and the support I feel here, I know that I can beat it up before it does the same to me!! I hope every one else felt the hope and support that I did today.

I think my plan will be increments. Doing something that will take my mind away from the endless obsession and what not. I have a busy life that I need to learn how to deal with for all of its chaotic, frenetic glory! Like I said, this is for ME. It is the first thing I have truly done for my self since I started drinking. That was to take me away, NOW all I want is to be back and in it and to get messy doing it.

I love this! If I helped you in any way today I am grateful. To be blunt this is hard. it can be messy. But it isn't as hard if you trust you are not alone here, at any time, for whatever reason. I have yet to have a worst experience than when I did being drunk all the time. and I did that for years and was ok with it. This? yeah it sucks sometimes, but not as bad so I get through it.
It is still hard. There is a cold wind blowing. But we are not alone and that makes a huge difference to me.

Welcome Snow! Don't swear alcohol off forever...just don't drink ONE DAY AT A TIME and the days will add up. Forever seems impossible. One day is do-able. I hope you find support and comfort here. :-)

Snow town, I'm a Minnesotan too. You've received lots a good advice here. To reiterate what some have said, keep your focus on now. Don't think about forever, next week, or even tonight, just this moment when the urges or panic or anxiety hits. The power of now is amazing.
