My pledge for 2015
My pledge for 2015
I recently relapsed after several years sober. I'm still working out the how's and whys...but what I do know is that I took my eye off the ball. I had a succession of things happen, life was tough...but I made the fundamental mistake of not putting my recovery first.
My advice would be...when things get difficult and you want to go hide under a duvet...post here. Reach out...and then LISTEN! I made a succession of half-hearted pleas for help, but then I was numbed to any responses I got, and they were all great. People sent me PMs and I didn't respond.
SR is such a powerful tool in recovery as long as we make use of it..and then give back what we receive. I took, and I didn't give back enough.
I've been sober for a week or so but am still struggling big time. As from today..no ifs or buts..my recovery is the single most important thing I can do for me and my family.
I've had years of joy...and I'm gonna get that back. That is my pledge.

You've got this, girl! Keep your doors open. Keep on posting. Sometimes we don't hear what we want back, but it's always good to get our stuff out there honestly and take the good with the bad.
Love you, jeni26!
