Hello SR. Just when i thought i had this drinking thing beat. I allowed it to get the best of me. I had some serious sober time only to blow it the last three days. I sure don't miss this feeling. Surprisingly i am still optimistic about getting and staying sober. I let my guard down, stopped visiting SR daily ( my only resource) and "forgot" how deadly this addiction is. Well I'm back with my tail between my legs. Today starts my new day one. Thanks for letting me vent.

You have helped me to remember the no-win with alcoholism today. I am gratefully sober today but have fallen down more times than I can count over the years. You can get right up and keep going!

Thanks SW and everyone. I am trying to stay positive. I do not want to go back to that defeated mentality I had for so many years. In the last three days, I have been hung over, hiding empty beer cans and lying about being at the bar. This is the same crap that I did for years and thought I was past it and had it beat.

I am miserable to have put myself back in that same vicious circle even if it was for only three days. My motivation was how happy I was until three days ago and the shame of what I feel for the last three days is motivation as well.

Maybe expand your sobriety plan? SR is great, but it sounds like you need more.

You might have some nasty withdrawals so be ready and take good care of yourself.
