Love the turtle, Brain. Awesome! BigS, you posted a bus picture a while back that I actually saved because I fell in love with the chrome grill. This one is pretty snazzy.

I'm back in the office now. I have stuff to do but haven't been doing it. I'm antsy for the weekend to start even though I have to work tomorrow and Friday. Seems like the weekend is tomorrow because I get to leave early tomorrow and Friday. And you know. I've had trouble keeping it in my head that the new year starts Thursday. New Year's Eve? Tomorrow? Really? Hmm. Guess I'm not too stressed over it all. Just another day in the life of Ruby.

Ok. Now I really do have to get some work work done. I am hoping the thread doesn't disappear. I could not access it at home on Sunday and I see it now, could read it, but well, let's make this thread the 500. KEEP POSTING EVERYONE IF YOU NEED HELP and SUPPORT!!!

I'm in with you all! It's the morning of NYE here, a pleasant 22C with about 27C expected. I've never been a fan NYE celebrations even when I drank (though I would then of course) but I do love the fresh turning over of the year and looking forward to all that is to come.

I took this the day before yesterday after an afternoon storm, this is what I see outside my study window when I'm riding the sober bus with you.

I'm in!!! I haven't had a sober new years eve since I was 15... and I am so used to being at huge parties and this year I'll be home alone. I will definitely have to be checking in here!! Maybe I can also have a window seat...?? Or, better yet, I would like a nice comfy mat so I can sit in the aisle. Can I do that? Yes??

Loved my time in the Bronx... NYBG... I have wonderful memories there. I also love the Planting Fields Arboretum on Long Island.... I took this pic. The greens just hung and you could walk under them.

Hey y'all ,
off out at 6:30 am this morning and just got back now midnight … big problems with computer doo whackeys which i had to fix .

New year ? well it's just a day to get through … other people attach a lot of significance to it but to me it seems very like the 24 hrs before or after it ..

I don't hold onto the attachment .. freedom to make the best of what is , whatever that might be , right now

Having said that , i hope we all have a pleasant time ..

I'm in. Going to buy a bottle sparkling grape juice for the family and stay in with movies and popcorn. It will be my little son's first New Year. In a way, it will be my first New Year too.

Welcome GnikNus! You reminded me that I have a bottle of sparkling pear/apple from Ikea that I bought to crack open when the kitchen redo was complete. It isn't but I can still raise a toast.

I'm in with Mec. I'm just not a New Year's Eve person. It really is like any other day except that I have the day off work.

I was expecting a quick roll through traffic on the way home tonight but no such luck. Yesterday was a breeze. Today, not so much. I'm going to attempt bedtime for the kids but hah! That's a joke. So I'm going to figure out what to make with the ground chicken I just cooked up.

Good job everyone who is celebrating their first NYE sober in a while. Stick to your guns, and remember what Ruby said: just say "NO" and move on. You know those parties you kinda-wanna-sorta attend? That's your inner alcoholic who wants to go to those parties. The sober you knows better. Stick around, enjoy a night by the fire or out on the patio, and get the New Year off to a great start!

No work for me tomorrow. Going to stock up on seltzer water, limes, and treats/goodies for the seniorita and myself. Thinking of grabbing some tacos from my favorite joint in town and bringing them home so we can eat them together when she arrives later in the evening tomorrow. A movie, a fire, and then we'll enjoy the fireworks from my terrace at midnight.
