I hope you feel better, Zepp.

Please don't pick up a drink. You know it won't help. You will sleep when you need it and when you have figured out a way to calm yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear you're sick AND not sleeping (if there's a benefit to the flu, I always think it would be more sleep!) If the other remedies don't work, have you tried an over-the-counter sleep aid, like Unisom or something like that? I don't know if they're considered addictive, though...

Feel better soon!

Thanks everyone for the support, SR is a life line sometimes, or should I say all the time.

I had a stomach bug last year... couldn't keep even water down... lasted 24 hours. The strange thing was... after that, I felt wonderful, completely cleansed and refreshed. I hope you will feel the same. The sleep will come... I have insomnia too, I just don't force sleep 'cause that make me a bit cranky! Feel better soon

Well I haven't been this miserable in a long time, it's worse than alcohol withdrawals and I've been thru that more times than I care to admit.

Well you haven't posted for a bit, hope you are sleeping. I find that when I don't feel well and insomnia hits, I just have to ride it out and not fight it. Eventually glorious sleep comes. Feel better soon.

Hope you get better soon. Being sleep deprived is crap. I hope you keep determined and let this pass as because someone said earlier when you are well, you will be well AND sober and you will feel a million times better than if you do decide to drink just now when all is said and done

Yeah my sleep is usually messed up for a few days after a bender. It eventually passes.

Zeppodogs's insomnia hasn't been caused by a bender.

For dehydration I find that Pedialyte works so much better than water. Water doesnt replace the sodium or electrolytes that you lose when you are sick. I highly recommend trying to drink 2 litre of pedialyte a day. That would be two bottles, or sometimes you can find the powder to mix with water. Very highly recommend it.

I also find that helps with anxiety since most of my anxiety stems from dehydration.

I put lavender on a cloth near my head, after I have drank chamomile tea. It usually works for me. A really dark room is essential too.
