I have to say that indulging in sweet treats literally saved me the first week. I didn't just eat. I indulged. Can you find something else for some temporary comfort?

I used it as a diversion to get through the white-hot cravings.

I won't lie. That first week was a b----. BUT, you just have to get through it. Get through it. You're stronger than you think.

The insomnia when you quit is horrible and adds to the misery but you'll get through it, you got this far, try to stick it out. It WILL get better. I'm going through it right now myself and finally got some sleep and the shakes are about gone. Don't give up Stiv.

Stiv - no need for apologies to me, perhaps I should apologize. I understand you are going through a tough time. I was just hoping to motivate you a little, not make you mad.
You are doing great. Keep this going. It gets better with some time.

Good work Stiv!! That battle that raged in my head when I first tried quitting was tough. I relapsed a lot. I made promises, a lot. I lied, a lot. I hit bottom, a lot. I finally realized that I was an alcoholic, accepted it and things got a little calmer in my head. I had tough days but the constant battle was gone.

You hang in there Stiv and please do not worry about posting here or some of the feedback you get. One drawback to posting is it is hard to see the person's emotion. I have found the folks here really care about each other, and you!!
