Small Victory

I posted earlier about craving a drink all day due to the stress of the day with the kids, etc. and wanting my "reward" of alcohol tonight.

Went to my family holiday party, where everyone was drinking and ALL the gifts were booze. No booze came home with us. I actually took the unopened wine that I was given from a friend as a holiday gift and left it at my family members house for them to enjoy. Why not? I surely do not want it sitting in my house.

Offered drinks and I said no politely. It was NOT easy. I really wanted a drink. Luckily, my children were tired and ready to go, so it gave me an excuse to leave early.

Thanks SOOOOO much SR for giving me a place to vent and for the people who respond with encouragement and who support my sobriety one day at a time.

Celebrating a small victory today! Putting on my pajamas and relaxing.
