New to recovery
Hey everybody. I'm new to online recovery forums and recovery in general. I'm 33 years old, and currently a beneficiary at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Oklahoma City, OK. I have almost 2 months of sobriety under my belt I started using alcohol and pot when I was 18 yrs old. This slowly progressed into alc, pot, and cocaine use. Weekend warrior. I thought I would never quit the cocaine because all it took was a couple of beers before I was on the phone making a "run." I met a girl in 2013 and fell in love with her. My alcohol and drug use went up a lot due to the regularity of her use of substances. Long story short we started using meth on a daily basis. We got pregnant at the start of 2014. Kept using throughout pregnancy At childbirth both my girlfriend and Son tested positive for methamphetamine. Our worlds turned upside-down. Dhs, of course, got involved and our son went into their custody. My Mother took guardianship of him while we struggled to get our priorities together. This proved to be extremely hard due to the addictive nature of methamphetamine. Both of us tried inpatient rehabilitation only to make it less than a month. My girlfriends 2nd go around proved to be a success! She is due to graduate right around Christmas. Our Son has been placed with her at her rehabilitation clinic. This is my 3rd go round at the SA (ARC) and I'm finally doing it. 3 weeks into my program marked the longest period of sobriety I've had in 15 years. Thank you so much for having me here. I love each and every one of you
