When did I ever have time

to drink? Sometimes I think about my past habit and it blows my mind. My routine now is this: get up at 550am, commute to work, work 8am til 430-5pm, commute home, workout 1 or 2 hours, come home, which brings me to 730-8ishpm. Leaves an hour or two to detox on my beanbag before I go to bed and do it all again. M-F.

What really blows my mind is that I worked the night shift during my heaviest drinking days. I'm talking working all night, commuting, and drinking EVERY morning after work. I won't even try to break down that schedule for you, it was ridiculous. On the nights I had off, I'd drink when I got home from work and then try to stay up all day, drinking wine, and then usually passing out by 3-4pm, waking up at 10pm, start drinking again and then -OMFG I'm going to stop that thought right there because, damn. No wonder my liver failed.

So now, it's beyond me how I even survived all of that stupid. I am so grateful my drinking days bit it. Happy Christmas Eve-Eve SR

So glad you decided to quit drinking.

I've discovered that we make time to do what is most important to us at the time. I used to schedule my entire life around drinking. How can I do this and that and still have time for my drinking? Maybe I just won't do this or that, or I'll rush through it so I can get back to my drinking. Crazy stuff.

I quit nearly 8 months ago. Yeah, it does put much in perspective.

Amen to this!! I cannot believe that I "found the time" to drink now that I'm sober. Thanks for a great post!

I can sure identify with you. I have no idea how I drank so much, so often and had time to do anything else.

Life was like side dish rather than the main course!

Funny, I was going to start the same topic with the same title the other day. But then I didn't have the time.
