A Christmas Poem
The pills were all lined up
In the cabinet with care
In hopes that one of them
Would tame that big bear
And if that didn't work
There was always the booze
Anxiety couldn't withstand
I had nothing to lose
But as I kept drinking
A strange thing did happen
The anxiety got worse
And I felt more trapped in
The promise of booze
Became a huge lie
And if I didn't quit
I knew I would die
So I rose from my chair
And threw out the poison
And exclaimed to the world
I had something to rejoice in
SR was my helper
My constant go to
And for that I am grateful
For having all of you!
