3 months tomorrow; checking in
 

Been traveling this week and with family, so I haven’t had much of a chance to check in here. Wanted to say, though, that so far so good. I was really fearful about coming home this week given the newness of my sobriety, but, surprisingly, it hasn’t been as difficult as I thought it would be. A few comments regarding my not drinking, mostly positive when I explained to them about work stress and my fear that I was drinking more than I should have been. One relative even took me aside to talk in more detail about it, confessing that she has been having a similar issue. Felt good to share my experience and maybe help her. And my mother, to my amazement, has not been getting under my skin. I think just as my drinking exacerbated my anxiety, it also made me more on edge around her.

Tomorrow will be three months sober. Just can’t believe it~ I see a truly happy new year around the corner. Happy Holidays to all of you!
