Chicken gumbo.

I am declaring a moratorium on reading your posts because I always end up starving after reading them!!!!! ;)

I'm currently making chicken soup. :-)

Oh, it's so easy! A big can of chicken, a litre of chicken stock and a freezer bag of gumbo vegies! As taught to me by my last wife's cajun grandmother! Add hot sauce or spices if you want. Serve over rice. So easy, and SO good.

Not near as involved as my onion soup.

Memories just rush upon us sometimes.

When I was 5 my grandmother started teaching me to cook. She noticed that I loved to eat and said that I should learn to cook so I wouldn't be a burden on some girl.

Can I send my husband over for some training?

Trach, thanks to your post now that I have the chicken stock and meat and I already have a trip to the market planned for tomorrow, I'm going buy the necessary ingredients and make make gumbo tomorrow.
