Arghhhh...
My father-in-law, my ex "drinking buddy" has a tumor in his bile duct, also something is wrong with his liver. Docs took a biopsy...
He can't drink anymore...
We shall see but not sounding good.
Arghhhh!

I'm so glad he has you for support. This change in his life will require more than medical support. Take care of yourself through all of this and keep us updated on your FIL's progress. Prayers for you and yours.

Tumor is cancerous, form of cancer that doesn't respond to chemo. He is having surgery on Monday. A very complicated operation. They said that if he didn't have surgery he would have 1 yr. With surgery 5 yrs. He has alcohol induced cirrhosis... Not good. My hubby is totally destroyed and is very depressed about it. The worst thing is that he is trying to take out his anger on me and when he does I fight him. I am scared too. My FIL is like a father to me. I'm not close to my own dad...

He needs it, he really does. He ev said that he needed to talk to someone but when I go ahead and try to make it happen, he shuts down. I'm trying to be patient and kind but I'm scared and angry too, plus I'm know to be a little bit of a firecracker and I have trouble controlling myself. I am really supportive of him getting some counseling. Any suggestions on how to get him to take the help. He is not a believer of therapy... Silly, I know.
