What many forget about the season,
is the REASON for the SEASON.

Even me at times, so I have to
practice things in my life to bring
me back to the basics. Practice
saying the prayers I tried to hard
to memorize so that they would be
ever so present in my mind to say
when ever I want and need them.

The Season is about celebrating the
birth of our Lord. That tiny little Baby
born in a manger in a barn surrounded
by Mary and Joseph, all those wonderful
animals and of course the 3 Wise Men.

In todays time and as far back as I
remember, Christmas turned into a
holiday hecticness. Family madness.
It's all about whatcha want and whatcha
got for Christmas.

Soooooo commercialized.

For me, I celebrate with just my husband,
no family, no tree, no decorations and all
the hullabaloo.....

We are painting inside our home
while waiting for March to get here
to take our bike trip to Daytona.

I stroll around outside in my backyard
admiring all those lovely bushes, plants
and flowers I dug holes for and planted
by hand. Watering them, caring for them,
talking to them, loving them.

They give me so much joy because I
give them love and care. I certainly
couldn't get what I want or need from
them if I don't do the work, care, and
time I put in them.

The Reason for the Season keeps me
grounded and focused on what is really
important this time of the year. Keeping
what most important in my heart, mind
and soul. Jesus and remaining sober.

Forgive me for my rambling.

I send you a special holiday wish that
you can find moments of peace and
serenity, strength and happiness within
yourself.

That was so beautiful Sharon. Thank you.

Maybe that's what is making me so upset about this season. I miss the simplicity of the holidays when I was a kid. The only memories I have of the current holidays is what to buy and how much to spend...and if I screw up Christmas dinner I'd better call Amnesty International to find me a place to hide...ok exaggerating but you get the point...

Thank you for your beautiful words...
