5 months and a couple fails...
Posted earlier but then the site froze...lost what I wrote. All is well, I lost the desire to drink. Just working on, well not sure, just continuing this adventure through life. Hope all is well and know that, you do lose the cravings. It's weird to suddenly not feel like drinking, to not reward yourself with a drink or drink when stressed, but it does happen. I was on here a lot but then had to step back and deal with all the stuff that had piled up. Not done, but almost there. Happy December! Life is so much more simple now.
wow - 12:08 AM - the old Mountainman watched a few of those Sex Pistols performances and now I won't be able to sleep for a long time. I'm all shook up ! But, I won't drink over it.

But you're post confuses me a little...
5 months and a couple fails? Your thread title...and absence lends me to believe there have been some wobbles? I had one myself just after 6 months. Probably why I'm asking
Otherwise it sounds like...you got this? What a blessing in early sobriety.
I was glad to see your name by a thread again! Hope you're back to update us again soon...

Glad to hear you've replaced stress with simplicity
The fellowship of AA alone was enough to remove my cravings around 9 months.
I still struggled with desire for another drug for a few more months but didn't pick it up either, eventually cravings left for that too.
Later on I was getting sick again emotionally, it was time to do the steps
I was still having huge relationship problems
Everything in its time
God is protecting us
