I told my Dr finally!

I finally made an apt and told my Dr I drink too much. It wasn't as bad as I thought. I was so nervous to admit it. He wasn't judgemental. Just said why do you drink. I said stress and boredom. So he's sending me for blood work. Than he saw the red spider veins on my chest and face said that was a sign from the alcohol. He pulled my eyelids down made a sigh. Than said he's sending me for an ultra sound on my liver. Now that's where I got scared. I've been looking at my eyes and to me I don't see yellow. So tomorrow I'm going for my blood work than I have to wait for the call to go for the ultra sound. Has anyone had those red veins on you face and chest. Did they go away? I know I shouldn't get scared until all results are in. Being worried is probably going to cause stress on my liver as well.

The body has a pretty amazing ability to heal from alcohol abuse.

Just don't pick up a drink and follow through with your appointments. An ultrasound is painless and non-invasive. If you don't drink you will start to feel better and start to heal.

Good job in beginning to take care of your precious body.

Hi itsgotime

I think he probably just wants to be super sure all is well.

Like Bim says the body is pretty adept at rejuvenating itself...once we stop poisoning ourselves
