I've been there so many times... I don't have any valuable advice or words of wisdom.. But you CAN beat this!! Best of luck to you.

Hi Nic. Hang in there. It happens. Think about why you derailed and change your approach. What can you add/subtract from your plan to keep you going?

Keep coming back!

I was just too weak to go out forunch with friends and not drink.. After I binged on Friday night.. I thought I could do no harm drinking again on Saturday.. Well lunch time on Sunday now and I'm horribly hung over.. I just need to get through withdrawal again and really do it..

Good for you for getting back in the saddle. Once you get over the hump, it does get better.

I'm still early in this journey (69 days), but one thing that helped me at the very beginning was to avoid certain people or situations until my "sober muscles" got stronger. For example, a week or so after I decided to stop drinking, there was a huge street party on our block. While I knew it would be fun, I also knew I'd be too tempted to drink. It doesn't mean cutting off these places or mates for ever, but just temporarily until things feel more solidified.

Do not give up. There was guy that I met last night with these disease that has tried over and over to get sober. Believe me. I was a chronic relapser. You can do it.

There's no one here who doesn't understand Nic.

But maybe you need to make some lifestyle changes for a while...or work on your support network?
