Day 6 here. Heading into my first weekend without drinking and we have two social events on the itinerary that will have alcohol. Luckily, I have my wife there with her loving support! Also, we have an exchange student arriving tonight so there will be lots of distractions to keep my mind elsewhere.

If the social events become too much there's no reason you can't check out early. Go enjoy some one-on-one time with your loving, supportive wife. I bet she would appreciate that.

Weekends are tricky... especially during this time of year. Keep yourself occupied as much as possible. I like to set up some type of itinerary for myself on the weekends being that I always mostly consumed during that time. I schedule time at the gym, time to read, time to cook/bake. I make sure I get out of the house and not be anywhere near alcohol. If I find myself getting bored or irritated I'll call someone or talk to my boyfriend. Good luck
