I will do this!
Hi, I'm on day 3 of no drinking, I feel good and haven't been craving much yet. This isn't my first time to try stopping I've made it a year before, then several months, then decided I could handle a few drinks now and then. I now realize that I can't drink! I black out and have those feelings of guilt the next day, and I'm tired of feeling crappy. If I made it a year before then I can make it for life!
Welcome to the forum and SR Richomechanic
Well done on day 3 and yes if you have made a year sober before then you know how possible it really is
for me to stay stopped acceptance was key & a good recovery plan
Nice to meet you

Welcome to the forums here at SR, RichoMechanic, and congratulations on your decision to choose sobriety. I admire your enthusiasm and commitment, and like other aspects of change and achievement, those are two great predictors of your continued success. Simply awesome. Hope you stick around and post often to share that message of yours, it and you are most welcome here.
Hey richomechanic- Welcome!!!
Congrats on Day-3. I think it's great to see that you've decided to take some action with your drinking. I think you'll find a lot of support in here, which should help you reach you goals.
Again, welcome and I look forward to seeing your around in here.

So I almost have December made dry! But I have cravings for the buzz and have had thoughts of planning a night of drinking, does someone have a magic trick to offer to kill the cravings? I'll start back at the gym tomorrow, eating right.
There's no magic tricks but there are some tips collected here
http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...-cravings.html
One other thing I'll suggest. You've been dry nearly a month - that's awesome but don't confuse abstinence with control - they are not the same thing.
You're doing well because you removed alcohol from your life - re-introduce it, and you risk ending up back at square one.

My recovery plan is to never drink again. The evenings are the worst cuz thats when I used to start her up a drinking. I reflect on the days in my early 20's when drinking was an on occasion and at times repulsive, way too much to accomplish.
Just speaking my mind, and thanks again for listening and replies. I'm doing better.
