NOT drinking in Angola
Hey SR fam,
On my first business trip to West Africa with my 34 days of sobriety. Day one here in Luanda in the books. Sober and feeling pretty darn good & on solid ground. Had some nervous anticipation the past week as it's these business trips and getting on long plane rides where I would drink and drink. Amazing how much better one feels getting off a 13 hour plane ride slightly buzzed on too much coffee vs. hungover and badly dehydrated from 2 bottles of high altitude wine ! Duh. Got my Big Book with me & a 30 day chip in the pocket. Thanks everyone for all your posts as I need to stay especially close to you'all here for the next 7 days ! Peace-out, MJM

way to go!!! I know those international business trips all too well. It sure does feel a LOT better doing them sober.
See if you can find a meeting while you're there, it's an awesome experience going to meetings in other countries.
Keep up the great work!

I think drinking on business trips is a bad idea for the very simple reason that it messes up the business. I missed a number of important morning meetings because I drank the night before and I nearly lost my job as a result.
But if you're like me you'll need the absoultely maxiumum amount of support to get through it without a drink. Reach out as much as you can, please!
