Lets try this again - day 2
I have tried this before but only halfheartedly. My drinking has created lots of pain in my marriage over the years. So enough is enough. I have stopped before but it usually only lasts two weeks. I am confused and embarrassed. I don't know why but I can't just have one drink. I sneak drinks, plan my activities around getting drinks, and I am tired of it. I need to stop before it destroys my marriage.
Now that I admit it, its time for me to look forward, repair the damage I have done, and start enjoying life.
I can do this!

3 weeks on the day for me!
My advice;
1. Use the heck out of this website.. the people here are great and have a lot to offer.

Welcome, lotsofcoffee! my husband tried to convince me to quit or moderate for years. It wasn't until I was finally sick of drinking that I got any traction at all, and even that's been VERY tough going for me. Thanks for posting, and best of luck to you!

Lostcoffe that almost word for word my situation. Don't give up. If the person you love is still there, it's worth fighting for. Stay sober for yourself, but remember your spouse when you feel yourself slipping. I wish you the best of luck. If you can do it, i can

I don't know why I'm like that either, but the solution for me lies in accepting it, and doing everything I can to back up that realisation
