Start where you are. Keep reading and posting here. Clear out all those bottles and pick up your apartment. Make it feel new.... A fresh start.

Start taking a daily walk or a run or hit the gym.... Something physical. Get some healthy action going.

Find the next available AA meeting in your area and go to it. Ask for a big book.

This'll get you going and if you do, you have nothing to lose in these actions..... Only gain.

We are here for you. You can do this.

What a bunch of great advice. The common theme was to clean the apartment. I didn't plan on finishing it all at once but I couldn't stop. Once I had the momentum and realized how much better the place was looking I had to finish it. I got on my hands and knees and scrubbed the hell out of it.

Afterwards I went and watched the movie Fury in theaters. Unfortunately I went alone because I'm new to my area and don't have many friends yet but it was a very rewarding experience.

Been three days now since that last drink and I'm already feeling alot better about myself. Doing some reading I think that the biggest problem that I have is that (at this time about day 3) I start giving myself a reason why I was silly to feel so bad about myself in the first place. Then I go get a drink.

This will not happen this time. Thank you all for your kind words I look forward to posting on this forum in the future. Hopefully I can inspire someone like you all have done for me.

However! As a 25 year old in a college town I need some ideas on what to do in my free time after work. Going to a movie was great, but I can't do that every night. I already work out every morning which is nice, and I think a few meetings will be great, but I need to have some good old fashion fun on the town.

What do you guys/gals do?

You are doing fantastic! Keep up the good work. You will make new friends-there are a lot of people who don't drink. It's amazing. ...I thought everyone who was any fun drank-totally not true.
