insomnia
It usually takes me a few days at least to get back into a natural rhythm toni...if you've never struck this before, could be you've reached a new stage of withdrawal...

i cant sleep though the night either. Hence why i have been up since 1 am. Of course I only thought I was sleeping when I was drinking. Truth is I was slugging off the alcohol. Try warm chamomile tea. It really helps. I tried ZZZquil too. I have read warnings about it though. It can lead to relapse because of the alcohol content...WHOOPS!
Insomnia is one of the toughest parts to being sober for me. On my first 3 nights sober I slept about 2 hours total. There are lots of different things to try. Reading in the dark off a tablet seems to help me for some reason. The old fashioned "counting sheep" actually can work too. Just count in your head and keep doing it. It will clear out a lot of the other things your mind is thinking about.
I've gone entire nights with no sleep and made it to work the next day. As bad as that is, it is still better than a hangover!
The thing for me is if I can't sleep, I get up and do something. Have something to watch if needed (movies, TV). It will pass.

Likewise, I haven't had a full nights sleep since being sober (on day 13) - I just try and think, oh well, less sleep but at least im not waking up with the heavy head, disgust and memory loss. Keep going, blimming hard I know xx
Hey tonib- Me too with the lack of sleep at first. It actually took me several months to start getting a 'full' nights sleep. I do still sometimes struggle with sleeping through the whole night, as it's sometimes broken up.
