There is a young man who goes to AA meetings here who spent over a decade in prison.
A few months ago he told us that he had just closed the sale on the purchase of his first home - he and his wife and child had just moved in.
People in AA rooms don't usually applaud - but we all did, with tears streaming down a lot of cheeks.
Don't ever believe you cannot make a good life.

Hi.
Good path to follow, we need to start somewhere positive. I still, after many years sober go to meetings and practice the program as it laid out in the 1st 164 pages of the BB.
We start out one step at a time, one day at a time in a row. Life can be very good if we let it.

mbg, welcome . . . just hang in there. It's can work out.
I've known plenty of people who have overcome addiction and a criminal past. It was hard for them, and there's no point denying that. But, they focused on their recovery, and doing the right thing each day, one day at a time.
