Still haven't found the screws. So I gave up and came upstairs.

Fandy, did you brace your table for the pile of food? I think I will come to your house for dinner. I don't iron napkins but I can help set the table.

Charlee, good to see you. That cranberry sauce sounds delicious. Would you mind sharing the recipe?

Kids are little zombies in front of the television. Mother in law was supposed to come over but she texted to say she isn't feeling well. I'd say something snarky but I will leave it at the hint. Kids are disappointed.

Sadly, the irreverent but usually accurate and not in the least officially sanctioned police blog in our city is giving the over/under on where in the city the first alcohol fueled homicide (over the last turkey drumstick) will take place this year. It's true that booze soaked holidays tend to fan the flames in family quarrels. I'm glad I'm not part of the craziness.

Time to put thought into dinner. I bought a pork tenderloin yesterday. And some deli thick cut bacon. Hmmm. I think it's bacon wrapped pork tenderloin.

Eggzakery.

So, I'm thinking of watching Toy Story and Despicable Me 2 today, because I like kid movies and why not?

The turkey is in the oven, the dressing is made and waiting, the cats got raw turkey scraps and are pleased, the potatoes are in hot water...all is going well. I'm trying not to get too excited over the sparkling cider, but you know, Sparkling Cider!!! I'll drink the whole bottle during my meal.

I had every intention of exercise, but don't think I'm going to make it with all the clean up and ongoing cooking.

Okay, so...the forums are making me really sad. I am going to admit to a liberal use of the ignore feature. I swear, I feel their pain and it gets to me. Ugh. Born codependent.

Dinner sound wonderful BM! I am making a nice ham tonight for me and ... Me!

That's why I love the weekender. Certainly anyone in need can speak up if they need anything but for the most part it's a positive place to just be for a while. And a damn funny group if I do say so.

Bimini, I watch kids movies and cartoons. Even if the kids aren't around. Most. Of them have something for the adults anyway so why not. Mostly lighthearted fun.

I know he's here in spirit. Some I'm in for nonsensical.

Make sure you wrap lots of bacon around your bird.

I was going to head out for a deer this afternoon. Hmmmm, after removing "snow" from the driveway - each shovelful weighed about 30 lbs it was so wet - I took a break and , getting too close to dark. I could probably still make it...
Tomorrow it's just me and the wife. We are going to have a real thanksgiving feast of venison, squash and things from our garden. A pheasant would be nice - maybe tomorrow morning I go out and get one - naw. Maybe a squirrel or two? Or a bunny?
Maybe next year.

And after. Green beans and garlic bread for sides. Note to self. Don't put parchment paper in 500 degree oven. Charred it but no fires. Thought that part of the recipe was a little odd.

Ok it started. Crawled myself out of a relapse and will need the support.

Happy thanksgiving everyone, will try to keep up with the thread.

I think the bus needs a winch, to pull the ones like me from the puddle of mud.

Yikes! Love you all

Oh, I don't know about a winch.

I hate cooking for this family. Husband gorged himself when he came home from work and then wouldn't eat. My son declared that he now hates bacon. And he didn't like it without the bacon either. My daughter picked at a couple of bites. I liked it but I don't eat leftovers for the most. Husband going to AA meeting and seeing his sponsor. I'm sending half the pork with him. Someone will appreciate it.

Oh, and the cat is eating the bacon. Thanks Edie. Someone appreciates me.

Yes, I have arrived to my seat on the 'soober-boose'.

I'm halfway through reading what is going on and have two immediate questions:

1) Does anyone have a tasty recipe for sloppy Joes?

2) barefootjunker - what is the meaning of your new avatar [shiver...]? I feel all mentholated when I see it. Maybe this will wear off by the time the weekend is over.

Great weekend ahead everyone!!

LeTheVerte, when I see your avatar and SR name, I always wonder if your favorite color is green. The second thing I think of is kelp at Monterey Bay.
