Stuff It

A morning Quickie...

'Stuff it' is what we're gonna do to the defrosting Turkey. Missus Mesa makes this fee_nominal Stuffing, as learned from her Polish-American Mom.

Packing my new Truck, and getting ready to tackle the Interstate West over Vail Pass. The Snow moved out just last night. Sunny again now, and some melting should begin. But, not up at ~11,000' on I-70. Gonna be a slow slog West in Holiday Traffic, but this is our first Weather break in several days. Makin' a run for it; Sober and safe...

Staying just shy of a month over on the W. Colorado Ranchette.

Just drove through the actual South Park CO a few weeks ago. Love that Show! The key to understanding it is to have a totally-Juvenile sense of humor. - Check -!

I posted a Travel Song in AF's neato Thread on what we all look like, so that'll have to do fer now.

Catch you all on the flip side later with more Pix and Stories, no doubt.

Pics of snow, MesaMan!

I am cooking the turkey today, because why not?

It's thawed, I have to eat. No one coming for tomorrow, so there you have it.

I'm definitely thankful for this thread, this site, and all of you for keeping me connected to the world. I haven't worked for a while and don't have any family, so you are a lifeline of sorts.

For everyone who does have family - may you forgive and forget this weekend. Be kind to everyone you meet, they are all fighting battles.

I grew up in Michigan and still remember those grey snowy days. Come January I wanted to slit my wrists.

As for South Park, who could possibly fail to adore Cartman? He's my total all-time favorite!

Congratulations, Melki!

Welcome back, Artfriend and Magellan!

How many times have I heard " who killed Kenny?"

Suppose that beats "ken? Where's Barbie?"

Can you guess what I said to that??????

Bimini... I will be alone for the holiday. With the snow today and working from home I had a huge craving come over me. Snow storms are a big trigger to want to be at the bar. Many a storm did I spend the day drinking, playing pool and feeding the jukebox.

But instead I come here. I have a piece of camel and sea salt chocolate and again give thanks that I wont have to deal with the "aftermath" of poor choices.

Glad you are here!!!

Holy carp! I go away and you all sneak two while pages in before I sign on at eleven.

Turning fifty on Monday went well. Field trip during the day was ok but no one was dressed to wander along the lake front in the driving snow which had been rain earlier in the morning. Twenty degree drop in temps from the time kids got to school and leaving for trip. Went out to dinner with my family. No fireworks. My gift to me was a vintage fur coat in great shape that I spied at an estate sale.

Since I have the entire week off I've been slowly doing stuff around the house. Cleaning. Kids are now off for week and so I put on my referee hat. Nine year old son trying to spell S.H. ! T with the holiday gel clings in the window. Sigh.

Congratulations Melki! Milestones are great. Keep on!

Everyone struggling, hang on to the bus this weekend. String some days, one by one by one. I will have a year on December 1. And I did it one day at a time with the support here on this thread and AA meetings. Now. I woke up knowing that I have to quit smoking and that scares the pants off me. Fear. How will I manage without it? I know it's killing me. Promising myself that tomorrow. Tomorrow I will quit. Pain and frustration and anxiety all over again. Just have to approach it like the drinking.

I'm in. I'm saving Olive a seat. Welcome everyone. Art friend, good to see you. The hobo coins are cool. I have to google them now. Thanks for distracting me from cleaning with something cool and interesting :/

I spend a lot of holidays alone, pretty much have for a few years now.

Three years ago I got through them by drinking, all the while knowing how bad it was making it and how pitiful that was. I'm so happy to have that behind me. Eating all the food sounds great.

Weasel, I know what you mean about the bars and the snow. For me it was darts.
