Can we start the weekender thread early pleeeease? But until we do, hang out with me here. What is everyone up to? I'm off work, prepping for a long weekend, cleaning, cleaning, cleaning...

Hi Melki! Happy Thangsgiving! I'll be baking pies this afternoon, 2 pumpkin and 2 pecan. This is the first time Ive offered to take on this challenge, so let's see how they turn out. I've got my grandmother's recipes...what could possibly go wrong? Lol

Hi all at work until 3:30pm. up at 4am cleaned kitchen and disinfected everything in sight for turkey. hahahahaha Ed will grill the bird tomorrow.. pies are from Bakers square.. but all the rest is just me.. may have a couple of strays that are VETS and an old buddy of ours for the afternoon and dinner... Cats are all excited.. look at that bird Jack were do you think she got that.. and Capt Jack jumps from counter to fridge to top of the cabinets to look down on me and the cleaning and the shelf that the bird is on in a big pan still in wrapper but un able to be touched by claws hahahahaha just hit me this morning this is my 3rd working Thanksgiving Holiday and 4 that no problems on my part for drinking Yeah team.. but still a tiny sherry at dinner just a tiny bit.. well no yes no yes no yes Hell no for just that tiny bit will lead to an empty Sherry bottle and me out like a light at 7pm hahhaha Go Turkey Team Go... gobble gobble

we have a flock of 25 hens and Toms Wild out this way at work and I get to hear this several itmes.. and yes I had to feed them last week .. got a fine .. Played the little kid but officer I really didn't know I should not have ... they look hungry... well just don't do it again.. ok fine 50.00 paid it and bought another bag of cracked corn for late today so they can have a good Thanksgiving too.. he just won't catch me doing it this time.. have found a turkey run to follow and do the dump of the cracked corn... hey I come from a farm what do you want .. ahhahaahha have a Grand Thanksgiving to all.

I am cleaning too, but not for company...just need to clean LOL. Also want to finish painting my meditation room. Making a spare bedroom into a nice sanctuary.

Thanks ardy! My kids enjoyed it. I'm cooking with them now, fun fun fun. 
So much better when I'm not hung over or sneaking drinks and snapping at them... ArtFriend, I'm cleaning and cooking not for company, just for us too.

Thank you! Hope everyone enjoys their holidays.
When I got sober late June, I remember being terrified of the holidays, how would I ever get through them without drinking. I am still mindful every day, but ready for the holidays and ready to enjoy them and make the most out of every day. If you're struggling now, know that it gets easier and you get stronger with every sober day under your belt.
