Phoenix out of the ashes - Redemption

What a difference a year makes! A year ago I believe I hit my "high bottom". I was hosting my clients at a very formal event and frankley, I did things in a ballgown that ....well frankley one should never do in a balldown! In my blackout I also forgot I had my husband with me at the event and jumped in a cab (alone) and left him there. He had no idea what had happened to me...I had just gone to the washroom.

Last night I hosted the same event...Yes once again in a ballgown. I was anxious for a few reasons and the least of all was that I was not going to be drinking....Iwas worried someone would remember me from my performance last year!!! (no one did)

To summarize the event:

1. Looked and felt amazing
2. Was a very attentive host to my clients
3. Did not wake up finding that I had "purchased" things from the silent auction which I have no recollection of
4. Stayed awake for the Chocolate fountain
5. REMEMBERED MY HUSBAND!!!

I am one year into my discovery....6 months into AA and a few weeks into SR and being honest with myself.

I use this website as part of my 3 step daily program: Recovery, Physical, Business

I wish you all a very happy and healthy week!

Oh the dreaded drunken silent auction items I've purchased in my time...thanks for the reminder & the chuckle.

What a fabulous post! Thank you so much for sharing & for blazing a sober trail for all to follow. Keep up the great work & keep on posting. Would love to hear more from you.

Congratulations to one year!! I have always loved that metaphor of rising out of the ashes, on fire and ascending with passion and hope out of the rubble and earth that once tore at our very existence!
