Stop looking for the differences and focus on the similarities.

Get a sponsor and work the steps.

WANT IT and you will get it.

I had the same reaction at my first clump of meetings in 1991. I couldn't relate to the stories because I hadn't done most of those things. When I went back in 2005 I had done some more of those things. When I went back in 2009, 2011, and 2013 I had done most of those things. I figure that if nothing changed, by 2020 I could be the guy at the meeting no one could relate to because nobody had done all the things I had done.

Instead I decided there was no value in being the guy at the AA meeting with the worst stories.

I'm not a 12-stepper, but if that is the program you choose, then work it, work it, work it!

Well my friend.....

You might start right there, where you are.

Adjust your focus a bit.

When you begin to see tools, even gifts - instead of 'crap'. Great things happen.

If you can't see it yet... Then just do the 'crap'.

Make yourself do it....

See what happens.

Get a sponsor.

Get DOING step one. Crap or not.
