I'm baaaaaack..like a bad penny
Hey ya'll - was gone for a few days but I missed everyone so I am back. Thanks to everyone who PM'd me and encouraged me. That was very thoughtful of you.
I started my course of antibiotics on Sunday and I cannot drink while taking them. Very severe reaction if you drink on this drug. So, I am now 3 days sans booze and I feel really good. I must take the medication for 10 days. I am hoping to use this as a spring-board into permanent sobriety.
Thanks again for your support guys.

Welcome Back.
Those 10 days will go by faster than you think. Have you got a plan for what you'll do when you feel like drinking when the medication is gone?
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi ArtFriend, good to see you back
One thing I will say re: the antibiotics, it's good that they will keep you away from alcohol but I would make sure your sobriety has more solid foundations than this negative reinforcement. It's a bit like Antabuse treatment... Maybe you can use this time to think about a more complex, new recovery strategy?

Yes, I have been thinking about a plan. Checked out AVRT and it appeals to me. I also checked out SMART Recovery and they have a meeting on Wed evenings here. So I may check that out. I am aware that 10 days is nothing and will pass in a heart beat.
