There will always be arseholes unfortunately. If you don't want to do anything about it at the moment due to your probation etc how about keeping a written record of these incidents, with dates and times and what was said. Then if things escalate in the future you have some evidence to take to the managers. Hopefully it won't come to that sounds like you are rocking your job so try to rise above it but if it gets any worse then you need to make a complaint

Honestly, I don't know what state you live in but in mine, work place bullying is illegal and is not tolerated. Talk to your boss. If your boss doesn't listen, file a complaint with HR.

You shouldn't put up with that while you work. Ever really but for you to have to deal with that in the work place.... ridiculous.

Stuff like that.
Despite the fact that I think AdmirableBlueEyes pretty much summed it up best, I'm still going to throw in a couple pennies.

I'm going to guess that Captain A-hole sensed some sort of "judgment" in your comment bout folks using treadmills over the outdoors...perhaps he did that himself. You know slotted his "workout" in a treadmill timeframe over a soul nourishing walk in the woods. Maybe he felt "lesser than" about that. He wasn't "doing it right".

Perhaps he was actually the oversensitive one Thomas. And based on later comments, you are doing well at your job ..so ya, you're a threat. This guy wants to cut you off at the knees for a reason.

You are far more powerful than you think.

Take the cutting remarks or bullying for what it is...

weakness from insecure, tiny, terrified fools.

What Nuudawn said !

Rest assured that we all know you to be strong, clever and determined.
Perhaps treadmill man doesn't have those qualities, huh ?

Thanks for all the support guys =)

I reported the guy, the final straw was saying some incredibly racist things about some black guys who use the gym. Like, so racist I won't repeat them here because I don't want to type them out.

If they want a guy like that to work there, then I don't want to be there.

))Thomas(( I just want to send you a hug right now. People can be real jerks. I don't have anything wise to say. Just hang in there.
